Accessibility
Everyone should be able to register, play, volunteer and run an event.
Our goal
Game On for Giving aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA on every page: event pages, registration, the organizer tools and the volunteer screens.
In place today
- Every page starts with a “Skip to content” link, and keyboard focus is always visible.
- Animations stop when your device asks for reduced motion.
- Pages work at phone sizes, and standings are real tables a screen reader can navigate.
- Volunteers sign in with a PIN, with no account or password to manage.
Known gaps, fixed in our next update
- Some light grey text falls just short of the 4.5:1 contrast it should have.
- A few organizer dropdowns don't announce their name to screen readers.
- Some pages have two main headings, and wide tables can't be scrolled with a keyboard on a phone.
- Brackets are drawn as a picture of the draw; the same games, with scores, are listed in the schedule and standings.
We test every page automatically, and with keyboards and screen readers, before each release.
Tell us about a problem
If something gets in your way, we'd rather hear about it than have you work around it. A person reads every message and replies. If you need help registering for an event in the meantime, we can register you ourselves.
